Qihoo 360 Introduces Caller ID Search Service

On his personal microblogging account, Zhou Hongyi, CEO of Chinese Internet services and security software provider Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU), today announced a new phone number identification search tool available on the company's So.com search engine. The new number identification search tool is similar to the phone number identification tool available for users of the company's "360 Mobile Safe" mobile security app, which allows phone calls from unknown numbers to be marked as a "Harassment Call," "Delivery Person," "Advertising Call," etc. For example, if a certain number of users mark a phone number as an "Advertising Call," whenever users of the "360 Mobile Safe" app receive a call from the marked number, they will see a box pop up on their call screen informing them that "X amount of users have marked this number an advertising call."

The complete database of phone numbers marked through the "360 Mobile Safe" app is now searchable through Qihoo 360's So.com search engine. Users can now use So.com's phone number identification search tool to search for unknown numbers. Search results will display the same "X amount of users have market this number as an X call" marking as seen within the "360 Mobile Safe" app.
