China Mobile to Open Billing Services to Gaming Platforms

Liu Hao, GM of China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) mobile gaming base, revealed at the "2012 China Mobile Global Developers Conference" that the base would, in order to spur mobile game development, roll out distribution channel integration, open billing, and "Dream Game Factory" projects.
Through distribution channel integration the company's mobile gaming base will begin to push its games through nationwide distribution channels. The base will also offer open billing services to other gaming platform industry partners, providing them with stable and secure accounting and software plug-ins. Lastly, China Mobile will provide hosting, testing, data analysis, and other related services to developers through its new "Dream Game Factory" project. The project will also provide developers with game development tools, assistance with uploading games to the game base, and post-development adjustments.
The total number of monthly unique visitors to China Mobile's mobile gaming base is currently over 40 mln, and monthly paying customers have surpassed 23 mln, generating annual revenue of RMB 2 bln.
Currently over 500 Chinese and foreign game manufacturers including EA, Gameloft, Disney, and Capcom have selected China Mobile's mobile game base as their preferred distribution platform.
