Baidu Map Opens URI API for App Developers

Xinhuanet, 11/23/12

Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) recently released an open uniform resource identifier (URI) API for Baidu Maps to developers (http://developer.baidu.com/map/uri-intro.htm) allowing developers to construct a standard URI using the Baidu Maps URI API schema to instantiate Baidu Maps products (including web maps and mobile client maps) from within webpages or applications for map display, searching, transit route lookup, navigation, and displaying nearby lifestyle service information.

Baidu Maps released a map API for the auto industry in July 2012.
