Tencent Microblog Adds "Total Post Views" Feature
BiaNews, 11/22/12
Tencent's (0700.HK) microblogging platform Tencent Microblog recently added a "total post views" feature allowing users to see how many times each of their posts has been read by other users by counting how many times a given post has been retrieved from Tencent Microblog's database to calculate the total exposure of a given post across all reading devices. The feature can offer users and corporate microbloggers a reliable, quantifiable means of understanding what factors - including content type and posting time - stimulate reader engagement.
The new post views count feature is one of a set of new features - including smart search keywords, custom microblog channels, retweets with additional images, multi-image posts, and a beta "micro-mall" feature - recently added by Tencent Microblog. According to Tencent's Q3 2012 financial report, Tencent microblog had more than 500 mln registered users as of September 30, with 94 mln daily active users.
