TMall Taps Guangzhou Internet Bars for Distribution

Ebrun, 11/12/12

Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group reports that it has set up "service counters" for its B2C subsidiary TMall at more than 800 internet cafes in Guangzhou to allow customers to order and pay deposits for items with an internet café employee who will then place orders on their behalf. Once the orders arrive and are delivered, customers can pay the remaining balance for their orders, which can either be couriered to customers' homes or picked up in person at the service counters. Alibaba says it could expand the service to set up counters in convenience stores or residential property management offices.
