Noah Education FY Q2 2010 Net Profit Up 74%

Noah Education Holdings (NYSE: NED), a provider of interactive educational content and education services in China, today announced its unaudited financial results for the fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2009. Net revenue for the quarter reached RMB 154.9 mln (USD 22.7 mln), up 14.5% over the FY Q2 2009 figure of RMB 135.4 mln, meeting the company's guidance of RMB 151-159 mln. Net revenue from Noah's traditional ELP business was RMB 149.1 mln (USD 21.9 mln), up 10.2% YoY, while net revenue from the LNS business was RMB 5.8 mln (USD 0.8 mln).
Net income for the quarter came to RMB 15.4 mln (USD 2.2 mln) for the second quarter of fiscal 2010, up 73.7% compared to the FY Q2 2009 figure of RMB 8.8 mln.
Noah expects to generate net revenue in the range of RMB 282 mln (USD 41.3 mln) to RMB 293 mln (USD 42.9 mln) for the third quarter of fiscal 2010, which includes RMB 273-282 mln from the traditional ELP business and RMB 9-11 mln from the LNS business.
