TechFaith, Qigi Cooperate on Smartphones

Mobile phone design house China TechFaith Wireless Communication Technology (Nasdaq: CNTF) and Chinese smartphone manufacturer Qigi Future Technology have announced they will cooperate on the development of four new high-end customized smartphones for China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) and China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) in Q2 2009. One model will be a CDMA1X smartphone running on the Android platform, and the other three will be CDMA1X, EVDO and WCDMA smartphones running Windows Mobile.
