Youku Reveals New Brand Strategy

Video-sharing site Youku released version 2.0 of its brand strategy today. The company plans to focus on co-production and sales of television programming. CEO Victor Koo said that as of Q4 2008, Youku had developed partnerships with 268 video-sharing sites and signed agreements with more than 1000 television production companies to form a new alliance granting the site rights to 40,000 episodes of popular new and classic television shows and 50,000 hours of film and television programming, or 80% of all rights agreements in the video-sharing market.
