Netease to Terminate Chat Room Services

Chinese Internet portal Netease (Nasdaq: NTES) formally announced today that it will close down its chat room services at midnight, November 1. Netease said the move was required by its new product plan, and stressed that users of its chat services will still be able to communicate with their online friends through Netease's blog, SNS, and friend-finding sites, and its Popo chat client.
