Bokee Founder Confirms Strategy

Fang Xingdong, founder of Chinese blogging service Bokee, confirmed in Beijing today that Bokee was in the process of a strategic scaling-back, and that the company will completely split off the sites www.bokee.com and www.blogchina.com, establishing two independent companies. Bokee will target the 'grassroots,' general-public demographic, while BlogChina will be positioned for high-end blogging content, and will add SNS and mobile services, among others, to its blog functionality as it focuses its efforts on becoming a professional blogging services provider.

A source has revealed that Bokee is actively seeking new investment for its future development.
