Taizhou Operators Increase Service Fees After Roaming Cuts

Netizens are reporting a 5 yuan monthly increase in the cost of Taizhou Mobile plans. At the same time, a Taizhou Unicom marketing employee has said that new Unicom plans will also increase by 5 yuan monthly. According to this employee, the rate of increase is intended to make up for revenue loss caused by the drop in roaming fees.

Reportedly, Taizhou is the first testing site in Zhejiang. If response is positive, the new rates will be "widely promoted."

An employee reached via Taizhou Mobile's 10086 support number denied that new plans after March 1 would cost an additional 5 yuan per month. A Unicom staffer reached by Taizhou Unicom'a 10010 hotline admitted that the new plans would increase by 5 yuan per month, but could not explain the specific reasons for the increase.
