Baidu Q4 Profits Up 79%

Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) announced today its Q4 earnings as of December 31, 2007 as well as its unaudited 2007 annual results. Q4 operating revenues increased 110.5% YoY, reaching RMB 571 mln; revenues for the whole year came to RMB 1.744 bln, up 108.2% over 2006. Net income for Q4 2007 was approximately RMB 220 mln (USD 30.1 mln), up 79% YoY; for the full year, the figure was RMB 629 mln, up 108.4% from 2006 retained earnings.
Online marketing revenues for Q4 2007 were RMB 569.6 mln, up 111.2% YoY. Baidu had more than 155,000 active online marketing customers in Q4 2007, up 8.4% QoQ and up 43.5% YoY. Revenue per online marketing customer for Q4 2007 increased to approximately RMB 3,700, up 5.7% QoQ and up 48.0% YoY.
Online marketing revenues for 2007 were RMB 1.741 bln, up 110.1% YoY. Baidu had more than 214,000 active online marketing customers during full-year 2007, up 49.7% over the 2006 figure. Revenue per online marketing customer for 2007 increased to approximately RMB 8,100, up 39.7% YoY.
Baidu predicted earnings of RMB 533 to 548 mln in Q1 2008, up 93% to 99% from the previous year.
