China's Overall Digital TV Users Exceeds 40m

Secretary-general of the China Video Industry Association Bai Weimin has revealed data showing that as of the end of August China had 19 million cable DTV users, 20 million satellite DTV users, 240,000 terrestrial broadcast DTV users and 550,000 IPTV users - over 40 million users in total.
By the end of the year DTV penetration is expected to reach 13%.
In 2006 the DTV industry was worth RMB 83.6 bln, growth of over 10%.
