JD.com Acquires Walmart's Stake in Dada Nexus

Chinese B2C e-commerce platform operator and retail infrastructure service provider JD.com (Nasdaq: JD; 9618.HK) announced today in a Hong Kong stock exchange filing that, via a wholly-owned subsidiary, it has acquired Walmart's entire stake in on-demand delivery service firm Dada Nexus (Nasdaq: DADA). The deal raises JD.com's stake in Dada Nexus by 9.3 percentage points to 63.2%.

Following the sale, Walmart China CEO Christina Zhu (Zhu Xiaojing) will leave Dada Nexus's board.
