WeChat Applet User Base Reaches 280 Mln

Total applet consumer users within Chinese internet giant Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat mobile messaging app have reached 280 mln as of June 2018, according to applet ecosystem data for H1 2018 published by WeChat applet statistics platform Aldwx.co. Total WeChat applets now number more than 1 mln, almost double the 580,000 total applets reported by Allen Zhang, a senior vice president at Tencent, in January 2018.
Compared to November 2017, in June 2018, average next-day user retention rates for applets increased from 13.2% to reach 25.5%, and 7-day retention rates increased from 3.1% to reach 13.5%.
