JD.com Invests RMB 100 Mln in PaaS Provider BoCloud

Suzhou-based Bona Xundong Software, operator of cloud service brand BoCloud, recently completed nearly RMB 100 mln in Series B+ funding from JD Cloud, Chinese B2C e-commerce platform JD.com's (Nasdaq: JD) cloud service platform for developers and merchants, and JD.com's online financing and retail investment platform JD Finance. The investment gives JD Cloud authority to appoint one director to the BoCloud board.
JD Finance and BoCloud plan to work together to create "one-stop solutions" in the financial technology domain, to help financial industry clients digitize their operations.
BoCloud was established in 2012 and focuses on the PaaS platform-level cloud computing market. Over the past six years it has leveraged open source technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, and Jenkins to provide container solutions and automated operations and maintenance solutions for finance, power industry, and government clients.
Editor's Note: According to Chinese IT industry investment information portal IT Juzi, the new Series B+ funding round brings BoCloud's total capital raised to date to approximately RMB 150 mln.
