Baidu CEO Resigns from China Unicom's Board
China Unicom, 6/23/18
Telecom operator China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) recently said that Robin Li, CEO of Chinese internet conglomerate Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), has resigned from his positions as China Unicom board director and member of the China Unicom development strategy committee. Wang Lu, a vice president at Baidu, has been nominated to replace Li as a director at China Unicom.
China Unicom's announcement said that Li decided to resign from the board because his busy work schedule has made it difficult to dedicate sufficient time to board responsibilities.
At Baidu, Wang has been responsible for enterprise-level brand marketing, public relations, campus brand marketing, government relations, administration and project development, procurement and professional ethics development. Prior to joining Baidu, Wang served as president and CEO for Walmart's Asia-region e-commerce business.
