Voice Recognition Firm Unisound Wins USD 100 Mln Series C

Beijing-based voice recognition technology provider Yunzhisheng Information Technology (Unisound) recently announced completion of USD 100 mln in Series C funding led by Zhongdian Health Fund with participation by internet services and security software provider 360 Security Technology (Qihoo 360) (601360.SH), Shenzhen-based Qianhai Wutong M&A Fund Management, and Hanfor Capital Management. The company also said that it has nearly completed an even larger Series C+ funding round.
Unisound has focused on Internet of Things AI services since it was established in 2012 and has developed a variety of technologies for smart speech recognition and semantic understanding.
Funds from the Series C funding round will mainly be used to support development of AI technologies and chips for more cost-effective integrated solutions, and to accelerate business expansion in the smart life and smart services domains.
