Translation Earphone Maker TimeKettle Lands RMB 7-digit Angel Funding

Shenzhen-based real-time translation earphone maker Timekettle Technologies recently announced completion of RMB 7-digit angel funding from Beijing-based translation solutions provider New Tranx Information Technology and Shenzhen-based Jinxi Venture Capital Management. Tian Li, CEO of Timekettle, said that funds will mainly be used for talent hiring, product upgrades, and expansion into new business domains.
Timekettle's WT2 translating earpiece is mainly aimed at international travel and business scenarios, including use by independent travelers, travel service providers and other commercial institutions, and international hotels and shops. The system includes two earpieces, a charger, and a mobile app. After initial configuration, the user can simply give one earpiece to the person with whom they are communicating, to support two-way conversation. A consumer-grade product is mainly sold overseas at a price of USD 199.
The WT2 earpiece system currently supports interaction in nine languages including English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, and Russian, and it can automatically detect the language that is being spoken. Through partnerships with translation engine companies, the WT2 system now has an accuracy rate of approximately 90%, and a time delay of between 1-3 seconds.
