Meituan-Dianping, Chinese Government Ally on Credit Information Sharing
China Securities Journal, 3/07/18
Chinese online ratings, group buy, and food O2O business Meituan-Dianping and China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and State Information Center (SIC) recently signed a credit information sharing partnership agreement, according to which the parties will use the NDRC-managed "Credit China" website to share credit-related information resources and accelerate the introduction of coordinated rewards and disincentives in the finance domain.
Under the agreement, the Credit China website will set up an information sharing interface for Meituan-Dianping within its data sharing channel. Meituan-Dianping will offer services including search queries, data service interfaces, and data document downloads to offer access to periodically updated public credit information through the platform. Meituan-Dianping will also process, organize, and systematically analyze public credit information for business purposes including credit reviews.
Editor's Note: Credit China is a platform to praise better businesses and discipline the dishonest. The website includes a search tool to quickly find the credit information of the legal representative and natural person behind a company. The NDRC and SIC have forged agreements with various leading internet businesses to share credit information through the Credit China site (for another example, please see Chinese Authorities Tap Ctrip to Encourage Good Behavior Pledge from Partners, MD 12/30/16 issue.)
