Tencent, NetEase Form Music Copyright-sharing Partnership

With support from China's State Administration of Press and Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT), Chinese internet firms Tencent (0700.HK) and NetEase (Nasdaq: NTES) recently reached a music copyright partnership agreement. Under the agreement, the two companies online and mobile music services, Tencent Music and NetEase Cloud Music, respectively, will share access to more than 99% of their exclusive music content under mutual licensing arrangements, and will form a long-term music licensing partnership. The parties will also actively open up access to their copyrighted music resources to other online music platforms.
