JD.com Partners with NetEase on E-commerce Marketing
JD.com, 9/27/17
Chinese B2C e-commerce platform JD.com (Nasdaq: JD) has announced a strategic partnership with NetEase (Nasdaq: NTES), one of China's leading internet and online game services providers, to cooperate on precision advertising and marketing across NetEase's suite of products.
As part of the partnership, users will have direct access to JD.com's shopping platform from within NetEase Mobile News, one of China's leading news aggregation apps. Using big data insights from both partners, JD.com and NetEase will offer tailored advertisement and shopping guidance content across the NetEase ecosystem. This is expected to increase the conversion rate for JD.com's brands and merchants. Brands on JD.com will also benefit from access to new marketing channels via NetEase's extensive product portfolio.
In addition, JD's live webcast channel will be integrated into the NetEase News app's live streaming platform to provide rich, video-based shopping guidance to NetEase users.
JD has already integrated e-commerce into several of China's leading apps. In August, JD partnered with both Qihoo 360, China's leading internet security provider and Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), China's leading internet search provider, to leverage big data and AI to provide users of both platforms a more targeted and personalized shopping experience. Other similar partners include Tencent and Today's Headlines.
