Driverless Car Startup Jingchi Secures USD 52 Mln Pre-A

Chinese autonomous driving start-up Jingchi Corporation announced today the completion of USD 52 mln in pre-Series A funding led by Qiming Venture Parnters, and with participation from several institutional investors and individuals, including Nvidia GPU Ventures and China Growth Capital. The funding will be used to rapidly build research teams in the United States and China, and accelerate deployment of Jingchi's L4 self-driving vehicle in China by the end of 2017. Qiming Ventures Managing Partner Kuang Ziping will join Jingchi's board.
Jingchi founder and CEO Wang Jing previously disclosed the completion of USD 30 mln in angel funding. Jingchi has confirmed to Sina Tech News that this pre-Series A round includes the previously announced angel round.
