Augmented Reality Firm Hiscene Completes RMB 100 Mln Series B

Shanghai-based intelligent image recognition service provider Hiscene Information Technology recently completed RMB 100 mln in Series B funding led by Suodao Capital and with participation from Sincere Capital, Yuanxing Equity Investment, and Xiamen-based photo editing app developer Meitu (1357.HK). Hiscene previously won RMB 8-digit funding from Meitu and Granite Global Ventures.
Hiscene, founded in 2012, focuses on hardware and software technology for augmented reality (AR) applications. The company's HiAR technology platform includes an SDK, cloud platform, and back-end management system, and is compatible with the company's HiAR Glasses product. Hiscene technology has found applications in education, medicine, industry, and marketing, and the company's hundreds of corporate clients include internet firms Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU), Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA), Tencent (0700.HK), Meitu, handset vendor OPPO, and online automobile information portal operator Autohome (NYSE: ATHM).
The HiAR technology platform is the core of Hiscene's business. The SDK supports multiple target recognition and tracking in 2D or 3D, and is primarily suitable for AR app or game development for iOS, Android, Windows, or Mac platforms. The HiAR cloud platform supports cloud-based image recognition and content editing.
