Douban to Cease Operations of Mobile Reading App Douban Yike
Mydrivers, 8/09/17
Douban Yike, the mobile reading app run by Chinese arts and music SNS Douban.com, has announced that it will cease operations and stop making content updates on August 16 due to business adjustments.
Douban Yike was first released in 2014 by Douban.com operator Douwang Technology. Douban Yike recommends interesting text and image content to users curated from the Douban.com platform, including high-quality articles, hot discussion topics, and humorous images.
Editor's Note: On August 5, Douban.com CEO Yang Bo said that Douban.com is adjusting its management and business lines in preparation for an overseas IPO, including the gradual shut down of products and services which, over the long term, have shown no signs of improvement and are losing money.
