Shanghai's Changning District, Meituan-Dianping Ally on Innovation Zone

Chinese online ratings, group buy, and food O2O business Meituan-Dianping and the government of Shanghai's Changning district recently signed a strategic partnership agreement covering several domains, including new business settlement, office rental, talent attraction, and business platforms. The parties will also work together to create an "online market regulation and services demonstration zone" and to develop a smart city distribution ecosystem.
Meituan-Dianping's newly registered distribution headquarters will be located in Changning and will receive policy support from Changning authorities. In addition, when Meituan-Dianping buys or rents office space in Changning, the city government will provide coordination support to help complete transactions as quickly as possible. The two parties will also set up several demonstration enterprises for "Internet + restaurant" and "Internet + wedding" services. Meituan-Dianping and the Changning government will work together to create an "online market regulation and services demonstration zone" which will share data and platform resources with city managers.
Changning has been designated as an "Internet + life services innovation zone" within Shanghai. The district currently has more than 600 "Internet + life services" enterprises.
