Virtual Assistant Developer FitME Secures RMB 8-digit Pre-A
PE Daily, 8/01/17
Hangzhou-based personal virtual assistant developer Fangde Intelligent Technology (FitME) announced today the completion of RMB 8-digit pre-Series A funding from mobile handset launcher developer Moxiu Technology (837315.NEEQ). The funding will primarily be used to recruit a large number of experts on artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Fangde's self-developed smart engine "FitME" allows users to interact with computers through conversation. FitME has, to date, launched a mobile app, official account on Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat mobile messaging app, and a WeChat group chat bot. For hardware, FitME has begun seeking partnerships with Internet of Things (IoT) platforms, household robotics makers, handset vendors, and smartphone design houses.
Users can send voice commands to WeChat official account "Xiao ME ("Little Me")" to complete travel, life, and entertainment tasks. For example, if the user simply says the origin and destination, the platform will automatically connect to the appropriate mapping service for navigation guidance. FitME also handles questions on weather, road conditions, nearby restaurants, and attractions.
Fangde previously completed RMB 7-digit angel funding from Jiuxiao Ventures in November 2016.
