JD.com Forms Goods Tracking and Anti-counterfeiting Alliance
Sina Tech, 6/09/17
Chinese B2C e-commerce platform JD.com (Nasdaq: JD) recently announced the establishment of a quality tracking and anti-counterfeiting alliance with China's Ministry of Agriculture, the State Quality Inspection Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the China Quality Certification Center, and numerous brands in the fresh food and consumer industries. The alliance will utilize blockchain technology to build an anti-counterfeiting blockchain tracing platform. Third parties will gradually be added to the alliance's chain and implement online-to-offline retailer goods tracing and anti-counterfeiting measures to protect brand and consumer rights and interests.
In the future, users who buy fresh food on JD.com will be able to see product source information by pressing a button on the purchase order or scanning a tracking code on the product from within JD.com's app.
In addition to the alliance, JD.com's Y Business Group, which serves retailers through the application of smart supply chain technology, and its cloud service platform for developers and merchants, JD Cloud, have officially released a blockchain anti-counterfeiting technology platform. The platform will offer technical support for integrated brand merchants in four areas: data gathering, data integration, data credibility, and data presentation.
