Cainiao to Focus on SME Logistics Development

Cainiao Network Technology, the smart logistics company established by Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group (NYSE: BABA), recently announced its plan to focus on small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), along with a new brand logo.
Wan Lin, president of Cainiao, said that the company plans to focus its efforts on providing SMEs with logistics services. Wan said that over the next few years Cainiao will provide smart supply chain solutions for more than 10,000 SME brands, and Cainiao will also promote the use of smart equipment in the logistics industry.
Wan said that over the next few years, Cainiao's big data and related algorithms will increasingly be used to support its logistics, and will help to optimize delivery routes for express services. Wan added that 24-hour express delivery is currently available in eastern China, and that in the future this service will increasingly become available in central and western parts of the country.
Cainiao said that it will also accelerate internationalization to develop an electronic world trade platform (eWTP) infrastructure.
