Vcbeat.net, 5/19/17
The city government of Guiyang in Guizhou province recently added diabetes prevention to its disease screening and management program "Shuang Quan Plan," and the new diabetes section will be supported by Chinese internet and healthcare firms Tencent (0700.HK), Bailing Group Pharmaceutical (002424.SZ), Kangkang Shengshi Information Technology, and the Guiyang Health Commission.
Under the partnership, the Guiyang Health Commission, Tencent, and Bailing Group Pharmaceutical have set up the Guizhou Diabetes Control and Information Center, and are offering Tencent's "Tencare Doctor Tang" smart glucose monitors for free to diabetes patients in 6 areas, including Guiyang and Anshun. They are also offering one-stop services for patients and doctors, including smart medical terminals, online finance and medical insurance, and physicians' platform services.
The "Shuang Quan Plan" was launched by Guiyang on March 30 and aims to completely screen for and manage certain chronic diseases. The system initially focused on high blood pressure and has now been expanded to cover diabetes.
To date, the program has taken more than 760,000 blood pressure measurements from city residents, and has signed treatment agreements with more than 30,000 patients with high blood pressure. It expects to reach 100,000 patients before the end of 2017.
