Meitu Technology Launches Chat App 'Shanliao'

Xiamen-based photo editing product developer Meitu Technology has launched a new social networking app, Shanliao (literally "Flash Chat"), targeting younger users by offering multiple chat functionalities, including text, voice, emojis, pictures, video, and doodles.
As opposed to traditional dialogue boxes, Shanliao's interface takes the form of cards. Ten-second short videos and pictures can be embellished with "bullet screen" text and emojis, while doodles and text can be superimposed onto photos. The app also includes a number of chat settings that allow users to ensure that chats are deleted after they are read, to send chats in groups anonymously, and to chat with strangers in their vicinity.
Many of Shanliao's features, such as animated doodles and ten-second bullet screen videos can be sent to other messaging apps.
