Hangzhou-based Yaozhi Technology, operator of O2O children's outdoor activity-booking app Baobei Zoutianxia, has won RMB 12 mln Series A funding from Chinese dairy manufacturer Royal Group (002329.SZ).
Baobei Zoutianxia (literally "Baby Travels the World") offers a variety of travel packages targeted at 6-12 year olds, including one-day local city tours, overnight training camps, and long-distance outdoor activities. The activities are designed to cultivate teamwork and independent survival skills. Parents are not required to accompany the children, but can check on them through an online video stream. Baobei Zoutianxia plans to turn children into online celebrities by developing original content in the format of either a reality TV show or a children's show. Baobei Zoutianxia currently operates activities in 14 cities across China and plans to expand to 100 cities after receiving this round of funding.
Yaozhi Technology, founded in March 2012, previously won RMB 5 mln angel funding in 2015.
