Tencent Social Ad System 'Guangdiantong' Daily Exposure Reaches 1 Bln

Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent's (0700.HK) social advertising system Guangdiantong has released the latest figures for its Mobile Ad Union advertising platform, boasting 60 mln daily active users and a daily ad viewership surpassing 1 bln views. Yao Yuan, Guangdiantong's senior product manager, stated that the Ad Union's rapid development can not only be attributed to the high traffic volume of Tencent's platforms, but also benefits from the product's simple to use purchasing design.
Guangdiantong currently has 800 mln monthly active users due to the large traffic volume from all Ad Union partner apps and others such as Tencents' apps QQ, Qzone, WeChat, and Tencent News. Total ad viewership has surpassed 10 bln daily views. Guangdiantong uses Tencent's big data technology to analyze user behavior and filter out user groups based on purchasing behavior and other attributes. Guangdiantong then uses this information to conduct targeted advertising to these particular groups. Currently, the Mobile Qzone app has reached a daily ad viewership of 300 mln views and an average click-through rate of over 4.5%.
