MIIT Issues FDD-LTE Licenses to China Telecom, China Unicom

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) today officially issued FDD-LTE operating licenses to China Telecom Corporation Limited and China United Network Communications Group, the parent companies China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK), and China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH), respectively.

Editor's Note: Both China Telecom and China Unicom were issued TD-LTE network operating licenses on December 4, 2013, but had been waiting to receive FDD-LTE licenses.
