JD.com's WeChat Account Integrates Paipai Social Marketing System
DoNews, 1/19/15
Online C2C e-commerce website Paipai.com, operated by Beijing-based e-commerce firm JD.com (Nasdaq: JD), has announced that the social marketing system for its "Paipai Weidian" mobile store platform within Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat mobile messaging app is now accessible in JD.com's WeChat official account. The new feature allows WeChat users to earn a commission by sharing Paipai Weidian product links.
A spokesperson for Paipai Weidian explained that WeChat users can access the social marketing system by clicking on "JD.com Select" under "WeChat Wallet," where they can see a wide selection of items from the Paipai platform, which have different commissions depending on product category.
Users can directly share product links either in a group chat or on their Moments feed. Users can also choose to add products to their own mobile microstore, which the system can automatically generate for them. Users receive a commission for any sales generated by the links, and the Paipai merchants are ultimately responsible for delivery and after-sales service.
The Paipai Weidian spokesperson stated that the first phase of the new social marketing system features more than 3,000 available products.
