Beijing-based mobile operating system developer Yuanxin Technology unveiled its new mobile OS, Yuanxin OS, at the Application of Domestic Operating Systems in the Field of Information Security Forum held November 26 in Beijing.
Zhao Chunlei, general manager of Yuanxin Technology's research and development center, explained that Yuanxin OS is a Linux-based mobile OS with significant security and graphics improvements. Yuanxin OS supports app development with C++ based QT and HTML5 programming languages. The OS is currently incompatible with Android, but with the help of third-party developers, Yuanxin Technology plans to create a virtual machine capable of running Android OS apps.
Wang Shiqing, marketing manager of Yuanxin Technology, revealed that the mobile OS is undergoing closed beta and will soon be monetized. The company has already made arrangements with several domestic handset manufacturers to release smartphones running the device, declining to reveal the names of the company's partners.
