Update: Amazon China Launches Overseas Product Direct Sales

US e-commerce giant Amazon's Z.cn China-based site began trial operation of an overseas products direct sales channel today, China's Singles Day online shopping holiday. During the first phase of launch, Amazon China is offering consumers 80,000 overseas products, covering apparel, footwear, childcare, cosmetics, toys, hygiene, outdoors and sports. All products offered through the service are sourced via Amazon's US website, and are sold at the same price in both the US and China.
Customers have three shipping options. Standard shipping takes 9-15 days, expedited shipping takes 5-9 days, and priority shipping can reach China in as little as 3 business days. Amazon China will automatically estimate import tariffs for all purchases made through the overseas channel during checkout. If the actual tariff is less, Amazon will credit the balance to user Amazon accounts. Customers will not need to cover the difference if Amazon under-calculates the tariff rate. Amazon China will be responsible for after-sales service and support for overseas products sold on the site.
