Baixing Launches Mobile Store Builder Tool
Popoc.com, 7/18/14
Shanghai Kiqiji Information, operator of online classifieds site Baixing.com, recently launched its "Weidian" ("Micro-Store") mobile store builder tool. Through the new tool, Baixing users can create mobile storefronts and post online classifieds all though the Baixing mobile app. The feature is available free of charge, and also allows users to post listings to their "Moments" photo walls on Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat mobile messaging app.
According to a member of the Micro-Store development team, more than 200,000 users opened stores during the first week of beta testing for the tool. Baixing also plans to launch a Micro-Store payment feature in the future.
Editor's Note: Baixing competes directly with 58.com (NYSE: WUBA) and Ganji.com in the online classifieds space. As the online classifieds space moves increasingly mobile, both 58.com Ganji.com have looked to make their platforms more mobile-friendly. Baixing secured third-round funding in 2013.
