China Mobile's Mobile Gaming MAUs Exceed 180 Mln

Duanmu Wenlin, assistant GM at China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) mobile gaming base, has announced that, as of February 2014, the company's "And Game" ("He Youxi") mobile gaming platform had achieved more than 180 mln monthly active users (MAU). In January 2014, Android gaming revenue from And Game grew by 176% YoY and 161% MoM. February Android gaming revenue on the platform grew 141.6% YoY and 47.7% MoM.
In 2014, China Mobile will cooperate with China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) and China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) to promote around 100 mobile gaming products, with monthly revenue targets for each game exceeding RMB 1 mln.
At the end of March, China Mobile also plans to announce a GAME@4G 4G gaming standard, as well as a 4G "high speed gaming zone." China Mobile will also look to operate games on smart TV and set-top box (STB) platforms through the release of a new software development kit (SKD).
