Tencent's 'Huanle Majiang' Registered Users Reach 100 Mln

According to Pu Yanli, GM of Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent's (0700.HK) gaming division, the total number of users of the company's self-developed mobile mahjong game Huanle Majiang, launched on Tencent's mobile gaming platform in January, has surpassed 100 mln.

Pu noted that 50 of Tencent's gaming, e-commerce, SNS, and other platforms now have more than 10 mln daily active users (DAU), including 20 PC-based platforms and 30 mobile platforms. 8 of Tencent's PC games and 9 of its mobile games have more than 100 mln registered users.

In September 2013, Tencent categorized 41% of users on its mobile gaming platform as light users, 38% as mid-core users, and 21% as hard-core users. By February 2014, the proportion of light, mid-core, and hard-core users had shifted to 21%, 45%, and 34%, respectively.
