Beijing Mobile Lowers Broadband Package Prices

China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) Beijing subsidiary has announced price cuts on select broadband packages starting from January 1. The company's 20M full year package has been reduced to RMB 900 per year from RMB 1,560, representing a 42% price cut, while the 10M package has been reduced to RMB 700 from RMB 1,188, a 41% price cut. Beijing Mobile's 4M full year package will also be priced at RMB 700, a reduction of 17% from the previous price of RMB 840.
In addition, Beijing Mobile has introduced a variety of payment plans for the company's family broadband packages, including monthly, semi-annual, 2-year, and 3-year payment options.
On December 4, 2013, China Mobile obtained a fixed-line network operator license from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
