Tencent Launches WeChat Plug-in for QQ PC Browser

Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent (0700.HK) has launched a "PC version" of the company's WeChat (Weixin) mobile messaging application. The PC version of WeChat comes in the form of a plug-in for Tencent's PC-based QQ browser (not supported by other browsers). Users of the browser can log into WeChat and start chatting with friends immediately following installation, and the new version also offers PC-only features such as sharing of photos and files by dragging them directly into the WeChat window, and the ability to hide the WeChat interface with a single key press.
