Tencent's Blade & Soul PCU Hits 1.5 Mln
DoNews, 1/10/14
Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent (0700.HK) announced today that the company's licensed 3D MMORPG Blade & Soul has reached a peak concurrent user (PCU) total of 1.5 mln, less than the 2 mln figure previously reported by an industry insider. The game has become Tencent's sixth game to exceed PCUs of 1 mln.
Tencent's first five games to exceed a PCU count of 1 mln were side-scrolling MMORPG Dungeon & Fighter, first-person shooter CrossFire, casual car racing game QQ Speed, 3D casual dancing game QQ Dancer, and 3D real-time strategy MMORPG League of Legends. Tencent has not announced figures for 3D MMORPG Legend of Yulong, but industry insiders believe that the game's PCU count has also surpassed 1 mln.
