Alibaba to Allocate RMB 200 Mln for Laiwang Promotion

Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group recently announced that the company will invest RMB 200 mln to promote its Laiwang mobile instant messaging app. The company's "joint growth plan" will encourage organizations, online and offline businesses, media, celebrities, and individuals to establish accounts on Laiwang.
An "invite" feature has been added to the latest version of Laiwang, allowing users to send special codes to friends to invite them to join the app. For each successful invite, Laiwang will credit RMB 5 to each the inviter and the invitee accounts on third-party payment processor Alipay.
According to a Laiwang representative, more methods by which users and enterprises can participate in the "joint growth plan" will be announced soon, and third-party developers are welcome to design products compatible with Laiwang.
