HunanTV.com Sues Xiaomi, Future TV for Content Infringement

Changsha-based Kuaile Yangguang, operator of Hunan Satellite TV Station's official website HunanTV.com, has filed a content distribution infringement suit against Beijing-based Android device maker Xiaomi and internet TV operator Future Television with Beijing's Haidian District People's Court. The suit alleges that Xiaomi and Future Television have begun online broadcast of HunanTV's celebrity talk show program "Tiantiang Xiangshang" without consent from Kuaile Yangguang, the show's exclusive online broadcaster.
Kuaile Yangguang is seeking the cessation of all distribution infringement activities by Xiaomi and Future Television, as well as RMB 100,000 in compensation for financial losses incurred.
Future Television is the internet TV subsidiary of China Central Television's national online TV station CNTV.
