Rumor: Tencent to Add 'Reading Center' to Mobile QQ

Sources close to Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent (0700.HK) have revealed that the company's Mobile QQ IM client will soon offer a mobile reading center, following the recent release of a Mobile QQ gaming center. According to the source, the reading center will integrate content from Mobile QQ Reader, currently an independent Tencent app.

The reading center will be announced on September 10 at a press conference for Tencent's online literature subsidiary.

Editor's Note: The recently released developer testing version of Mobile QQ V4.5 makes reference to the addition of a reading center and "audio emoticons."
