Suning to Build Physical Stores for RedBaby

Chen Shuang, GM of the maternity and childcare division for Chinese consumer electronics and home appliances retailer Suning (002024.SZ), has stated that construction is under way on the first group of brick-and-mortar stores for the company's childcare e-commerce subsidiary Redbaby. Not only will the stores sell Redbaby online products, but they will also serve as a venue where the company can offer customers value-added services. Redbaby plans to invite childcare experts to the outlets to give classes on child rearing to parents, as well as hold lectures and other promotional events at the stores. Redbaby retail outlets will follow Suning's unified pricing model for all products sold across the company's online and offline platforms.
Starting on May 13 of this year, Redbaby began to sell its online products through Suning retail outlets in eight cities around China, including Beijing and Shanghai. Customer service representatives in these Suning stores provide Redbaby product recommendations to customers, who can then submit their order for home delivery - with the assistance of Suning employees - by using the Suning.com mobile client.
