Beijing Trials Electronic Receipts
Sina Tech, 6/27/13
The Beijing Municipal Office of the State Administration of Taxation, the Beijing Local Taxation Bureau, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and the Beijing Municipal Administration of Industry and Commerce announced on June 27 that they will begin to roll out trials of electronic receipts in Beijing, effective immediately.
According to the announcement, trial sites for electronic receipts will be determined by a liaison group, and will be split into two phases based on receipt category. The first phase of trials will be aimed at receipts for individual consumers; the second, at receipts for corporate and work-unit consumers. Current efforts pertain to first-phase trials, which will be limited to sales of products to Beijing-based consumers from Beijing-based B2C e-commerce platform Jingdong's self-operated platform (excluding Jingdong's third-party platform).
Electronic receipts will be testable and verifiable via the Beijing Municipal Office of the State Administration of Taxation's website or other web service providers, and should generate identical results when checked against different online verification tools.
