BiaNews, 6/25/13
To complement its recent launch of a product offering users Q Coins for retweeting microblog posts, Chinese internet and mobile services firm Tencent (0700.HK) recently convened Tencent Microblog enterprise services events in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shandong, and Shaanxi using the tagline "Micro-relationships, Major Business." Tencent used the events to promote its enterprise-focused promotional products and services, and will host similar events in Chengdu and Wuhan in the near future.
A spokesperson for Tencent Microblog said that the new "Q Coins for retweets" program will offer users virtual currency for retweeting Tencent Microblog posts from corporate accounts.
Tencent Microblog also began testing a CPC competitive bidding model for advertisements in March 2013, in the interest of increasing the precision of its targeted marketing offerings. According to a product spokesperson, the product allows enterprise users to select target demographics by criteria including age, gender, and city.
