Taxi Booking App Developer Shifts to Housekeeping O2O App
DoNews, 6/21/13
Yun Tao, developer of mobile taxi-booking app Dudu Jiaoche, recently announced a shift of focus with "eJiaJie" (http://www.1jiajie.com), a platform for housekeeping services providers. eJiajie currently offers services in Beijing through its mobile app and Tencent's (0700.HK) WeChat (Weixin) mobile messaging application. Yun Tao's team began work on its WeChat platform before the mobile app.
The eJiajie map interface displays the location of nearby cleaners, along with photographs and detailed introductions for each cleaner. Users can submit their locations and a desired appointment time — and offer additional incentives as necessary — to have eJiajie send out "demand notices" to all cleaners within a five-kilometer radius. The cleaners will compete to be the first responders. There is reportedly a cost of several hundred RMB to eJiajie for each cleaning lady it acquires, covering low-cost Android terminals and mobile phones with data plans.
Dudu Jiaoche announced in early June that it would cease operations. According to Yun Tao, recent governmental controls of taxi-booking services were the chief reason for the move.
